FAQ
How do custom orders work?
Every custom piece starts with a conversation. For some work, you’ll submit a quote request outlining your ideas, references, and use case. For others, you’ll place a custom order with a 50% deposit to reserve your spot in the schedule.
Once we have the details, we’ll review everything and follow up only if clarification is needed. When the piece is complete, the remaining balance is due before it ships or is picked up.
What’s the turnaround time?
Most custom work takes 10–14 weeks, depending on the piece and our current workload. Buckles, in particular, vary based on size, construction, and level of detail.
Quality takes time. We don’t do rush jobs.
Can I use my own stone or materials?
Often, yes. If you have an heirloom stone, turquoise, or other material you’d like incorporated, include that information in your quote request or reach out directly. We’ll let you know if it’s a good fit for the design.
How do payments work?
Custom work is typically split into two payments:
-
50% upfront to reserve your spot and begin work
-
50% upon completion, before shipping or pickup
For larger or more complex builds, we’ll outline payment details clearly before work begins.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide. Any customs duties, taxes, or import fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
Can I cancel or return a custom order?
Because each piece is built specifically for you, custom orders are non-refundable once production begins. If you need to make a change, reach out as soon as possible and we’ll help if we can.
What if I don’t know my ring size or belt size?
For rings, we recommend being professionally sized at a local jeweler. If that’s not possible, we can walk you through accurate at-home methods.
For buckles, we’ll discuss strap width, thickness, and fit during the design process. Having the belt on hand is always helpful, but not required.
Do you offer resizing or adjustments?
Most rings can be resized within reason, though certain engravings or stone settings may limit how much adjustment is possible.
Buckles are built to specific dimensions, so changes after completion are limited. If you’re unsure, ask. We’ll talk it through before anything is finalized.
How should I care for my piece?
Silver and gold are meant to wear in, that’s part of the character. To keep things looking good:
-
Remove rings when lifting, welding, digging, or doing hard manual work
-
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush (no harsh chemicals)
-
Store dry and wipe down occasionally with a polishing cloth
If it ever needs a deeper clean or touch up, we’re happy to help.
What materials do you use?
We work primarily in sterling silver and gold (10k, 14k), along with natural stones, turquoise, moissanite, and diamonds (lab-grown and natural). Every piece is built from solid materials.
Can I see sketches or progress along the way?
Absolutely. If you’d like updates, sketches, or progress photos, just let us know especially on more complex builds like buckles.
What if I want something a little unusual?
That’s usually where the best work starts. If you’ve got an idea that doesn’t fit neatly into a form or product page reach out at howdy@justindiversilver.com
